Soldiers Cave

Lost Soldiers Cave is famous for its beautiful "bacon" formations. Bacon is formed when mineral-laden water drips from the ceiling along a thin blade of rock. The colorful stripes are evident when you shine a light through one of these formations. There are also gorgeous helectite formations. Helectite is formed when mineral-laden water is squeezed through rock into thin white branching formations. Soldiers is a vertical cave and requires two rappel trips to get to the bottom.
